New Delhi, 1 October 2026. The Union government released its accounts for April to August 2026 on 30 September. Receipts had reached ₹13,67,709 crore, while spending was ₹20,77,958 crore. The difference shows why the monthly accounts matter, but it cannot by itself predict the full-year fiscal deficit.
