HIV-infected girl finally gets govt's attention


KOZHIKODE: Three months after district health authorities were first informed that an eight-year-old girl was found HIV positive, the government finally ordered an inquiry by the director of health services.
The girl, from Mananthawady in Wayanad, is suffering from Thalassemia and has been undergoing regular blood transfusion at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital and district hospital, Mananthawadi, for the past six-and-a-half years.
