Google has finally brought the Nexus 7 tablet to Indian shores. The Nexus 7 is available via the Google Playstore.

Nexus 7, touted to be the lightest tablet in the market comes with a 7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The tablet, which comes with only Wi-Fi support (No GSM slot) runs on the latest Android Jelly Bean version – no surprises there! The tablet comes with a 16 GB and 32 GB flash memory variants. The devices packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 NVIDIA Tegra  processor under the hood. The one GB RAM combined with the superfast processors should make browsing a breeze.

Nexus 7 comes with a front-end camera for video-calling. The device comes with 4,325 mAh battery

Nexus 7 comes with Google Now which according to Google: Google Now brings you just the right information, at just the right time. It tells you today’s weather before you start your day, how much traffic to expect before you leave for work, or if your flight is delayed. All of this happens automatically, with cards appearing at the moment you need them.

Nexus 7 is priced at Rs 15,999 for the 16 GB variant in India and as mentioned above, available via the Google Playstore. The store mentions shipping time of 3-7 days so the device rollout should begin latest by the first week of April.

Though the price is slightly higher as compared to its international variants ($199 for 16 GB), Google is expecting strong sales as the device has done well in other markets. Also, while the Indian market is bursting with tablets, there are very few that manage to leave a mark (except Apple which is plain unaffordable for the mango man). Google Nexus 7 might be the solution to the confusion in the Indian tablet market.
